Aus NewTechs Pty Ltd is seeking a dependable and skilled Data Centre Technician for ongoing deployments across regional NSW. This role involves hands-on network installation, structured cabling, rooftop antenna work, and device integration at health and infrastructure sites.
Scope of Work • Install and patch Cisco router to Vocus/Optus/Teltra/NBN NTU • Assist with LAN migration and speed testing • Install and align Yagi antenna on rooftop of data centre • Perform structured cabling (Cat6/Fiber), including rack dressing and patch panel termination • Label and mark all cables, ports, and devices per site standards • Conduct safe power-on procedures, verifying grounding and surge protection • Integrate routers, switches, NTUs, and other devices as per detailed drawings or phone instructions • Login to routers and switches using various cable types (Ethernet, serial, console) and perform basic GNU/Linux tasks, including connectivity verification and speed tests • Collaborate with client-side engineers during migration and testing • Ensure all work complies with safety, documentation, and enterprise standards
Required Skills & Experience • Experience in network hardware installation (Cisco, NTU patching, LAN migration) • Familiarity with Fortinet, SD-WAN, and enterprise-grade routing/switching (preferred but not mandatory) • Proven ability to install and align Yagi antennas safely and accurately • Strong skills in structured cabling, labeling, and rack management • Ability to interpret technical drawings and verbal instructions for integration tasks • Comfortable with CLI environments and basic GNU/Linux commands (not mandatory) • Must be willing to travel across NSW (Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, etc.) • Valid White Card and Working at Heights certification required • Own transport preferred

About the Role We’re hiring a Senior Technology Lead to oversee and enhance network and telecommunications infrastructure across a large-scale, multi-site digital health environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex enterprise settings and is passionate about secure, high-availability systems that support critical services. You’ll lead technical operations, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver resilient, scalable solutions. The role includes project leadership, cybersecurity oversight, and vendor engagement.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the resolution of complex network and telecom issues, including participation in on-call support - Maintain and improve operational procedures to reduce outages and enhance service reliability - Identify and implement service enhancements and new capabilities across the network and telecom stack - Lead infrastructure refresh and rollout projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards - Enforce cybersecurity best practices and proactively mitigate risks - Provide subject matter expertise on future technology roadmaps and service delivery strategies - Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure high-quality outcomes - Adhere to service management frameworks (incident, change, problem management) - Contribute to a positive team culture and support regional service delivery
Selection Criteria: - Tertiary qualifications in IT or equivalent certifications in Network & Telecommunications - Extensive experience in one or more of the following: HP Aruba, Cisco Networks, VoIP, Wi-Fi, Network Security, and Telecom Infrastructure - Proven ability to identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats - Strong track record in managing IT operations within large enterprise environments - Experience improving service documentation and workplace culture - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams - Must be able to live and work on-site in Orange, NSW—remote work is not available for this role - Valid NSW driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally as required
